Signature of the agreement CEHICA-ICIWaRM (International Centre for Integrated Water Resources Management), Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, June 2011

The Water Resources National Institute (INDRHI) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Water Resources  (IWR) of the U.S. Army  Corps of Engineers (USACE), to jointly seek opportunities for cooperation aimed at projects of common interest related to water and soil, and strengthening the training through the implementation of new technologies.

The agreement will be conducted through the Centre for the Sustainable Management of Water Resources in the Caribbean Island States (CEHICA), headquartered in INDRHI, and the International Centre for Integrated Water Resources Management (ICIWaRM) operating in the USACE.

The document was signed by Mr. Frank  Rodriguez, Director and President of CEHICA- INDRHI and Mr. Robert Pietrowsky, Head of the IWR, in the framework of the First Seminar on " Groundwater resources, climate change, & human pressures: assessment and adaptation in Latin America & the Caribbean ", which took place in the Dominican Republic under the coordination of UNESCO-IHP and INDRHI.
