One of the fundamental missions of the FRIEND Project is to develop and share regional databases. It is with this purpose that the FRIEND AMIGO Project shares with the UNESCO International Hydroinformatics Centre in Latin America and the Caribbean, shares the responsibility for developing the Integrated Data Base System of the International Hydrological Programme, a project that is being implemented.
As part of the FRIEND AMIGO LAC database system, the Regional Draught Surveillance and Diagnosis System Project maintains a regional climate and meteorological database for the subregion of Mesoamerica and the Caribbean that is currently being prepared for the whole region of Latin America. This database builds on the information developed by Professor Mike Hulme at the University of Anglia, United Kingdom. On the other hand, in close cooperation with the FRIEND Alps and Mediterranean (AMHY) and Western Africa (AOC) groups, cooperation is being pursued in the development of a database system for the FRIEND global initiative (http://armspark.msem.univ-montp2.fr/amhy/) .
